Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to fly. I have been fascinated with it. I started my training in May of 2004. I earned my Private Pilot's license from Professional Flight Training at Brainard Airport in Hartford, CT. In 2005, I enrolled into Westfield State College's Aviation Management Bachelor's Degree Program. Right away, I saw Five Star Flight Academy's competitive advantage over other flight schools because of it's relationship with Westfield State College. Because of this relationship, I was able to enjoy the benefits of a college degree program and this helped me to fast-track earning my Instrument, Commercial and Flight Instructor ratings. I became a new Flight Instructor in February of 2008, and I am enjoying every minute of it. It has made every piece of the journey up to this point worth it.

I chose to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot after I was inspired as a young child by my two grandfathers. After obtaining my Private Pilot Certificate in December of 2005 at Robertson Airport in Plainville, CT, I decided to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL where I would receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Science with a minor in Business Administration. I also worked as an assistant in the Aviation Safety Department where I learned the importance of a strong safety culture.

During my four years there, I earned my Commercial Single and Multi Engine Certificates as well as Instrument, Flight Instructor, Instrument Flight Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Instrument Ground Instructor Ratings.

I began teaching tail-wheel flying, spin training, and grass ops in a 1946 Piper J3 Cub in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Since then I developed a strong passion for teaching and consider myself very fortunate to be part of the great group of people who make up Westfield Flight Academy.
