Congratulations to Steve Blair for accomplishing his first solo on July 24th. Steve started flying a few weeks ago with CFII Kyle DeFeo and is well on his way to becoming a Private Pilot. Steve's goal is to go all the way to Commercial Pilot.

Congratulations to Taylor Werth for obtaining his Private Pilots Certificate on June 19, 2010. Taylor is enrolled in the Aviation Management Degree at Westfield State College and is on his way to becoming a professional pilot. He now has his head in the clouds as he works on his Instrument Rating.

Commercial Pilot! Congratulations to Lydia Lucia for obtaining her Commercial Pilots Certificate on May 17, 2010. Lydia earned her Aviation Management Degree at Westfield State College and is on her way to becoming a professional pilot. She is now enrolled in the CFI program and is planning on working at Five Star this fall.

Five Star's College Affiliation Program is approved for the Post 9/11 GI Bill which offers as much as $17,000 per semester for flight costs and tuition to veterans.

Rohit Yadav from New Delhi, India became a Private Pilot on Dec 27th. He is enrolled in Five Star's International Pro Pilot Program and is on his way to becoming a Professional Pilot. He has now begun the Commercial Instrument Multi portion of the course and is expected to finish by March. Although Five Star has had International students in the past, Rohit is the first to come from India and has opened the door for more Indian students who will be arriving in Feb due to our agreement with Sarah Aviation in New Delhi. Great job Rohit!

First Solo! Andrea Di Pietro made his first solo on March 13, 2009 (Friday the 13th!) Andrea is enrolled in Five Star Flight Academy's Professional Pilot Course and is well on his way to earning his Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument and Multi Engine Ratings. He is flying almost everyday to quickly reach the goal of becoming a Professional Pilot. We expect him to complete the Private Pilot Course by April and to start his Instrument Rating right away. Nice job Andrea!
International Flight Training Expands! March 21st, 2009 04:39 PM
Five Star Flight Academy is proud to announce it has been approved to provide Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) training for Cabo Verde Airlines which is the official airline of Cape Verde Africa. Justino Andrade, pictured here, is the first candidate to complete his training. Mr. Andrade is a first officer in the ATR 42 and because of completing his training with Five Star he will now be sent to Toulouse France for his Captain upgrade and ATR 42 Type Certificate training. Five Star is honored to be given the opportunity to train with the Cape Verdian pilots.

We have purchased a new airplane! It is a 2000 Cessna 172S Skyhawk equipped with a color GPS and an autopilot system. Oh and we are sure you will be comfortable sitting in the leather seats, so call and schedule your lesson today!
